Waking up in our new apartment (just across the hall), was actually the first time I got a decent night sleep. We all got up & dished out our laundry to get cleaned, mostly all our clothes only cost us $20. Tony & I actually headed to Table Mountain, while Ali & Tim decided to sleep in a little, go on a nice jog & do Table Mountain on Sunday.
We got in a cab & headed to the cable cars to take us up to Table Mountain. It was a perfect, clear, warm day (warm = 60 degrees). We got there around 9:30am & walked right up to the cable car. These cable cars hold 65 people & actually rotate 360 degrees around so you can get a complete view of the scene. And let me tell you, it was again an UNBELIEVABLE view, a little scary at first, but beautiful!! You are actually able to climb to the top of Table Mountain, which Ali & Tim might do, but we decided to take the ride up.
When we got up to the top, we grab ourselves two muffins (death by chocolate & a cherry bran with frosting) - both needed butter because they were so dry. The coffee there was super good!! After our quick breakfast, we headed out to explore the amazing Table Mountain.
The views from up on the top of this Mountain were just incredible! You could see ALL of Cape Town, from GreenPoint Stadium to Sea Point (where we are staying) to Camps Bay! We had great views of Lions Head as well as Devils Peak.

We walked off the given path and continued on our journey. There were some pretty scary moments because the wind was seriously SOOOOOOO strong & the there weren't any side walls to tell you to stay behind. But we did get again, so many great shots.
Besides climbing by foot up the mountain, there were people propelling down the side of Table Mountain - it made my stomach drop - that is a little too adventurous for me.
There were also some weird looking animals walking around on the sides of the mountain, I'm not sure what they were exactly, but they were funny:
We headed down in the rotation cable car & when we got to the bottom the line to go up the mountain by cable car was extremely LONG. I couldn't believe my eyes how long this line was when Tony & I just walked right on - thank goodness!
When we got home from Table Mountain, we met up with Ali & Tim and head to Fan Fest for the US vs. Slovenia. We first stopped to get a bit to eat at a quick sandwich place near the Greenmarket Square; we were all satisfied with our choices. We then headed to Fan Fest where there were quite a bit of America's wearing their jerseys, flags around their neck, crazy hats, & jackets. However, there were A LOT of English, preparing for their game. We did see the end of Germany vs. Serbia - sorry Germany.
US vs. Slovenia started and it didn't look like a good start at all. There were people cheering for US but there were other's cheering for Slovenia. The 2 to 0 start was not making us feel good, but in the 2nd half, we were feeling a little better, until the ref cheated us on fouls, goals, & cards. The US did good for the calls that were made, and a 2 to 2 tie is better than a lost, so I'm pleased with that. Oh and Tony loved blowing the vuvuzela at Fan Fest when the US did score, REALLY their 3 goals, even though only 2 counted!
Next we moved on for dinner. We wanted to try Cubana, a fun happening place on the main street heading to the stadium, however, it was PACKED!!! So off one side street, Tim noticed this small sign of a Tavern called Vasco Da Gama. We decided we needed to eat something before we went to the game, so in we went to this small, smoky, Portuguese restaurant. Luckily, we found a very small table in the corner that we smushed into & all ordered a Castle Light, but poor Ali's was not good. We were a little weary about what we all ordered, however it all ended up being very good, surprisingly, so we were very pleased.
We headed to the game with ALL of England it felt like. The poor Algerian's were definitely out numbered. You can see ALL the English flags hanging over the walls, it was pretty much like this all around the stadium.
We were sitting exactly on the opposite side from where we had seats the past 2 games, so it was nice to see a new view. Ali & Tim were in pretty much in the same seats as last time.
The English are very noisy group haha - they like to cheer loudly & use bad words. I don't think they were very pleased with how their team played because they started singing God Save the Queen. We were glad to actually see Algeria tie with England, however, the English were not. It was really great to see some of the England players play!
After the game, I ran to the bathroom, and when I came out, Tony was chatting it up with these 2 women from Jo'burg - they were really nice & loved us. They invited us to stay with them at their place in Jo'burg, but we said we didn't have time to head up there - and then thanked them for their kindness.
Also, leaving the stadium there are rows & rows of police officers standing around - they didn't seem to mind people taking pictures in front of them. So I decided to go for a good shot:
Finally, we taxied it home, where we met Ali & Tim and decided to all go to bed, since we had to get up and leave by 6:30am for our Bike & Wine tour across 3 different vineyards.
