Feb. 17th - Last Day in Phuket, in Thailand

We slept in from our fun filled night out and woke up for our last breakfast in Thailand.  We enjoyed the ocean view and the warm sun coming down, but then it was time to have some pool time.

Tony a little tired, but got up to have breakfast
I took a picture half way done eating

I went and laid by the pool, reading my book.  Tony was still pretty tired so he went back to the room and took a little nap until it was time for eat again haha.

He came back down and we decided to just stay at our hotel and order something by the pool.  We felt like having some kind of sandwich or hearty meal.

Enjoying my water!

Therefore, I ordered the french dip sandwich, which wasn't exactly like the french dips we think of but still pretty good flavor.

Tony decided to try the bacon cheese burger.  His came out and it look amazing, I was actually a little jealous of his meal.  Well, right when he took his first bit into the burger, his face explained it all, pure disappointment.  It didn't even look like it was real meat and he literally couldn't eat much more of it.  I let him have more of my sandwich and my onion rings.

Not a happy Tony

After lunch we laid by the pool some more and just relaxed!  Then we went back to our hotel room to pack up our bags.  It was so sad packing up and knowing we had to head home, meaning our vacation was coming to an end.  We enjoyed our last time out on a balcony and then decided we wanted to find a good meal for our last dinner.

We took a Tuk Tuk ride into town and had him stop when we saw places to eat.  As we were walking around looking for food, we decided to by the dice and number (Jackpot) game to bring home for us.  We got it for 300 baht and were happy with our purchase.  Then we found a restaurant, Sweet Lobster, that had a bunch of lobsters out on display.  I really wanted to get some good sea food, so we decided to eat here for dinner.

Our Restaurant (we sat at the table in the corner on the right)

Both Tony & I decided we wanted to actually get the lobster for our dinner.  These HUGE lobsters were about $30 each, not too bad considering what we'd pay in the states.  The woman went and picked out our lobsters and then let us hold them.  Well, I held them because Tony didn't want to touch them, he thought they were too gross to touch hahaha

She's weighing our Lobsters!
They were kind of heavy!  Large Lobsters
Here they are, pretty colorful
Our dinner on a silver platter!

We had them grill them up with butter and garlic.  Tony got the HUGE one and mine was a little smaller, but we shared.

They came served with this soy sauce with some kind of extra kick in it.  We weren't sure exactly, but we both LOVED dipping our lobster into it.  We both ate it all up and then were tired from eating so much, we got in a Tuk Tuk and headed back to the hotel.

Time to EAT
Here's my plate

We had to get up at 4am to catch out 8:15 am flight back to Bangkok, to then head to Hong Kong for the night. It took an hour to get to the airport from our hotel, that's why we had to get up so early.

Good night Thailand, you have treated us so kindly and have enjoyed every moment we had here!!!  This has been an incredible vacation, an incredible life experience.

Feb. 16th - Day’s of nothing but relaxing by the pool & night life

We woke up feeling pretty good, another good night sleep.  Today we decided to spend the day hanging out by the pool, laying on the pier & then head into town.  We went down to breakfast around 8:30 am and they didn't have what Tony liked from yesterday, so he was sad he just got cereal:

Sad Tony :(
But then he found a pretzel bun and stuffed it with bacon.

Being weird haha
I made my own egg sandwich with ham, egg, and cheese on the pretzel bun! It was really good!

After breakfast we head to the pool (literally like 10 steps away from where we ate).  We had picked out our lounge chairs before breakfast so we could get the ones we wanted.  People get up at like 6am to put their towels on chairs, we at least got good ones still at 8:30!

We sat looking towards the sea instead of the pool, such a beautiful scene.

But the pool was right behind us!  We got so hot laying there that we then took a dip in the pool.

This is when I asked Tony if he thought he could swim from one side of the pool to the other in one breath!  Let the games begin.  We put on the snorkel mask that I had brought with just to make it more fun.

He did it just fine but was tired!  Then it was my turn to try.  Tony didn’t think I could do it, but I told him I use to do this stuff all the time as a kid, this was a piece of cake!

After our little game, we sat back down and rested some more.  But this time rested by our pool side bar where Tony ordered himself a Chang beer, and I wanted fun fruity drinks.  1st one I got was a pina colada, then later in the day a Strawberry daiquiri, and finally had one more, a pineapple daiquiri where she literally put chunks of fresh pineapple into a machine and made my drink.  YUMMY!!

Delicious
We got hot again, but this time we both really wanted to do canon balls.  Now, you have to image that around the pool are a bunch of older folks, we were definitely at the hotel with more older people, but we didn’t care because how nice it was.  So here we come wanting to jump into the pool making huge splashes.  It was fine though because we did them when no one was by us in the pool.

Tony discovered another cool feature on my camera called burst, it takes like 10 photos really quick to capture the best shot.  Well, here are some good ones of us!

Muscle shot of Tony doing his canon ball!
Perfect Form!
Big splash, it's what Tony was looking for!
Check out the guy sitting behind me! He was getting a kick out of us jumping, so I’m glad someone else enjoyed it as much as we did!

I decided to do a different jump
Splash, not as big as Tony's
We then left the pool area to walk over to the Jetti (our pier).  They had lounge chairs out there and an area to go swimming.  It was getting to be around lunch time so when we arrived out there, we had them order us that prociutto pizza we had the other night.  It was just so good!

While waiting for our pizza we got our lounge chairs together and reapplied sunscreen. Tony really hates putting it on his face, so I said fine, I will just leave it like this:

I didn’t though.  We just sat back and talked while enjoying the view:

Loved wearing the flowers
Our pizza has been delivered, so we walked to sit down at the tables.  Please notice our cozies we bought ourselves.  In this heat, if you are having a drink outside, it will be warm in 2 minutes.  We discovered these Chang cozies on our way to Koh Samui & we bought 2, it was perfect.  It seriously keeps your drink so cold, we now always bring them with us haha

Lunch Time!
Another funny story, while we were sitting at lunch I took off my “Ray Bans” I bought earlier in Koh Samui, which we know nicked named “Roy Bans” and Tony goes “What is all over your face?” I’m like, “WHAT??” He’s like, “You have black stuff all over your nose and forehead around.” We looked at my sunglasses and sure enough, my Roy Bans melted on to my FACE!!! Hahahaha I hope you can see the glasses:

Melted onto my face!
It was now getting close to 4pm and I had scheduled myself a 90 minute full body massage at our hotel spa.  This is more expensive then all the other massages I got, but by far the best & in the most incredible spot.

The spa rooms were up in the jungle part

So relaxing

I walked back to our room, where Tony said he was enjoying his “spa” - air condition, laying on the bed, & watching soccer.  We got ready for the night.  Tonight we wanted to check out another area of Phatong Beach for dinner and drinks.

Cheers! Drink on our balcony

We walked around trying to find a place to eat, but we did do a little shopping as well.  We found art that we like to always buy when we travel to hang up in our house.

Where we bought our art work

The street that we were walking down was packed with bars, restaurants, and lots of Thai ladies!

Walking down the street with a ton of people
Bars & Bars down these different side streets

We found a Thai place to eat and sat down.  Tony got fried pork belly & chicken wings, while I got a chicken and pineapple curry.  It was all very good and cheap!  Tony was in heaven with is fried pork belly.  I tried one and it was way too fatty for me.  We decided to check out the scene after dinner.

Tony loving his fried pork belly

We found this outside bar that had other couples, like Tony and I, so we decided to have a beer.  This girl came up to us to play a game of connect four.  We said sure!  This girl was a pro at connect four.  No matter how hard we tried, and Tony and I both tried playing together, we couldn’t beat her.
Playing connect 4 but failing to win!

Then she brought out this other game that we had seen a lot of stores selling but didn’t know what it was.  She explained it to us and we were hooked.  Basically, you roll dice, pick with number you want to flip over and try to get jackpot (getting all the numbers flipped).  We all got jackpot a couple of times.  It was seriously so fun!  I think this girl did her job good, she got us to stay at the bar, order more drinks, all while playing these games.  Even the bar tender started loving us!
Playing the dice and number game!
Tony with all our new friends (but we're not sure where the girl behind Tony came from, she's faking taking a shot)
They were all very nice, but Tony then told me he thought they were working ladies.  We were done playing so we went and explore the street some more.  It was a fun festive night, and we fell right to sleep!
